A digital strategy, sometimes called a digital media strategy, is a plan for maximizing the business benefits of data assets and technology-focused initiatives. A successful digital strategy requires a cross-functional team with executive leadership, marketing and information technology (IT) members.
This is the First result I found in Google…So lets break it down for you with some scenarios. Lets say you are running a Digital Campaign to build your “email marketing list”. You may want to set out with some Objectives, Goals, Benchmarks and Strategies in mind, so let's begin

The objective is to have a list of 10,000 in 12 months
The strategy is tool we will use to achieve the goal. One strategy that we could used is building a squeeze page and off an ethical bribe to get the prospect on our list… Someone else may used a strategy of starting a Newsletter with an option box and run traffic to that. Others may be building their list from Videos, or Podcast or Social Media… or build a buyers list. These are all strategies that you can apply to achieve your goals and get the same outcome.
